Personnel from the 15th Communal Investigation Division of Buenos Aires were conducting an operation in a building located on Castillo Street at number 100. The operation was carried out as part of a case being processed in Criminal, Contraventional and Offences Court number three, aimed at seizing firearms and/or ammunition.
In the words of police sources: "The discovery of the grenade was an unexpected event that required the immediate intervention of the Bomb Squad to secure the area and prevent any risk to nearby residents and the agents present."
